Account & BillingGetting StartedChoosing a Plan

Choosing the right plan depends on a few key factors. To make things easier, we’ve broken it down into the three most important considerations:

  • Server Usage
  • Player Count
  • Plugins or Mods

Server Usage

Server usage refers to how you plan to use your server.

If you’re hosting a casual Survival world for a few friends, the following guidelines should work well:

  • 1GB RAM for versions 1.8 – 1.12
  • 3–4GB RAM for 1.14
  • 2GB RAM for 1.15

For more demanding scenarios(such as high-intensity PvP with complex mechanics or heavy enchantments) we recommend opting for a custom plan to ensure smooth performance.

Player Count

The number of players on your server directly impacts performance. More players require more RAM to maintain stability and reduce lag.

As your community grows, scaling your plan accordingly will help ensure a consistent experience for everyone.

Plugins or Mods

Plugins and mods can significantly affect resource usage.

  • Modded servers are typically more demanding. For most modpacks, we recommend starting with at least 6GB RAM, though requirements vary depending on the pack.
  • Plugins vary in resource usage. As a general guideline, you can estimate around 30 plugins per 1GB of RAM, though this depends on how lightweight or heavy those plugins are.

Final Notes

These recommendations are meant to serve as general guidelines rather than exact requirements. Every server setup is unique, and performance can vary based on configuration and usage.
